MARCH AND APRIL 2022 BOOK REVIEWS

Books are great.

But I didn't read many over these two months.

Take a seat and read about what's been filling my brain.

Don't worry, I will never share spoilers!

Everything will be rated out of 5 stars and go like this :

⭐️ : could not finish

⭐️⭐️ : finished but would not recommend

⭐️⭐️⭐️ : appreciated the writing but the content of the book was underwhelming

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ : a wonderful book but I was left wanting more/something was missing, would recommend

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ : my whole soul felt this and I have to share it with the world; would read again

LIVING FULLY BY MALLORY ERVIN

finished 3.20.22

⭐️⭐️⭐️

I picked up this book at B&N because I have periodically followed Mallory’s life on Youtube and was just super excited for her and wanted to support. Enjoyed the first half, second half became a bit repetitive. Had some great one liners in there to really shift things into perspective. Admire her and her grit and perseverance, just a bit lackluster for me.

A great book for somebody just opening themselves up to their own awakening.

THE LINCOLN HIGHWAY BY AMOR TOWLES

finished 4.6.22

⭐️⭐️

Ok, I was super excited about this book. I rarely by paperbacks because my tiny hands have a hard time with them. But I ran across this book at Barnes & Noble and it sounded so good. A young boy just getting done after serving time in a detention center for involuntary manslaughter and two of his friends hiding in the trunk of the car escaping with him (& him not knowing until he got home). Ready to set out on a new journey with his younger brother to start fresh in a new town, they all packed up to head west.

How in credible does it sound?! So good.

I was looking forward to 4 hooligans causing trouble while having the time of their lives. But that’s not what happened. Problem after problem, same story after same story. Duchess causes problems, Wooly is oblivious to life, Emmett cleans up the messes and Billy keeps looking for the adventure of a lifetime.

The book was soooo boring. I finished it, but it took me over a month.

ELEANOR OLIPHANT IS COMPLETELY FINE BY GAIL HONEYMAN

finished 4.20.22

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh my goodness gracious this book was oh so adorable while also heartbreaking at times. Such a good vacation read. The book is light hearted and white with a storyline that will keep you wanting to know more and more about Eleanor and the pain she endured and lived through.

I admire Eleanor and was fully invested in her as a character. Just a normal every day girl moving through a life that dealt her a pretty difficult hand.

This book will pull at your heartstrings and remind you of the importance of friendship and connection.

An excellent book.

Pick up a book this week!
